This was an alright movie. It could have been really good if the writing was a bit better on certain things. But overall, for are I'd rather watch thiso movie than anything new coming from the networks and such. When the bad guys girl started telling him what she was gonna do, she did a masterful job of expressing the "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" attitude. And it was nice to see the cops father not believe his son would turn criminal. He knew he was being framed. Good movie, overall. ?

I swear Mary Gordon played a cops mother 20 times, she's a real doll. I think Mary's best roll was Pot O` Gold with James Stewart, that is a great movie.

Very 30s. The “30s” ended with Pearl Harbor. PS: Captain Murray is a good representation of city cops at that time, some of which I knew.

It's more than obvious this is over 70 years old, cops nowadays are nowhere near as STUPID as this fake undercover cop! Has his girl friend working in the club as a photographer, gets her to take a picture of the boss and the mayor thru the door transom USING a flashbulb, then Leaves her there while he goes to get the film developed. How could he Not know she(who is the photographer and only one there with a camera) will be the first person suspected ?
Like how the chief grabs the gun from the floor with a handkerchief ….and then plants it in his other hand with no handkerchief! Keystone Kops!
