Love this movie and each song, but each time I watch these literally objectified women used as chandelier and candle holders… irk, that must have been painful. They most likely shoot that scene for hours…
This was the system that all of us Baby Boomers who were born into in the 1940s up to 1957(when I was born). A system that had REAL MEN and REAL WOMEN, strong, independent, responsible and commitment-oriented…now that was real feminism and masculism, real liberation not the fake kind of today! A society where men were expected to pay for dates and support their families not expect a woman to pay of go "dutch treat" and only have women work if they wanted to or if they had to because their husband was disabled. A society where parents took care of and love their children as they loved each other. A society where the educations system EDUCATED not INDOCTRINATED! A strong prosperous society made possible by strong people who valued love and friendship, where people fought for what they believed in and worked together. A society led by strong leaders who governed by LAW, where to be an American was to be respected and admired by most of the world. Take a good look and see how much was given up to create the society of today where unemployment, lack of education, gender uncertainty, out of wedlock pregnancy and abortion, continual wars, massive debt and corruption and above all, a feeling of hopelessness, hatred and dispair. A society led by weak, corrupt leaders on the brink of destruction! Yes, i'll take our past society to your present society any day of the week!
