  1. At least they got a great actor. I like how he's not making fun of the culture, like other old movies i've seen. And that voice! Commanding, ridiculously British and unmistakable

  2. ? " HILARIOUS!…. This one has was better written and performed than it's prequels. This one seemed more of a Sherlock Holmes meets Star Trek with another Bond ending…. Is Fu Manchu another Wile E. Coyote-like ' genius ' or what? "

  3. By 1973, an alternative to anti-Semitic and anti-Asian Fu Manchu came in the form of Jewish Stan Lee's Chinese hero Shang-Chi. It was unwise to have Myrna Loy's free loving character dressed as the Star of David create a tribute to Nazi priest Charles Coughlin in 1936 named Dom Patrick Donegal. Brides of Fu Manchu was toned down, but didn't go far enough to distance itself from the history of bigotry which the series produced. However, I am intrigued that this was also the same year Coughlin was done with his by then church-limited ministry and his Royal Oak Church.
