  1. She died of cirrhosis of the liver from alcohol dependency in 1938, aged 49. For some reason, not shown in the movie, probably not enough of a Hollywood ending for back then.

  3. // I Found Myself Laughing At A 1947 Movie When The Balloon Broke Away And She Went To Hit The Producer On The Head And Called Him A Irish Bog Hopper ,That Was So Funny. ,Great Movie. !!

  4. Terrible schlock movie, all fiction about Pearl's romance and accident. Married several times, she lived in Paris, finally. Betty Hutton is a dated actress.

  5. In showbiz there's people known as "triple threats"- those who have almost equal talent in acting, singing, & dancing. Back in the day, Jimmy Cagney was one tho many didn't realize it. He really only made 1 movie that really showcased his amazing abilities. Of course, he was a fantastic dramatic actor. He could do a bit of light comedy but it wasn't really his forte.
I believe Betty Hutton has him beat all to heck & should be considered a quadruple threat bcuz, of course, she could sing & dance, but unlike Cagney, she could do comedy & drama equally well, tho she didn't get much chance to show off her dramatic abilities, but in this film she shows exactly why I consider her a "quadruple threat".

  6. WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH NEW YORK CITY?AND WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH FUNCTIONAL CRACK HEADS?AND WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH ME TO?AND WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE TERM A LIST?AND WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH ALL THOSE HAIR EXTENSIONS?

  7. Just had to watch this. Knew about it. I think my mom was pregnant with me at the time. My dad is one of the dancers in the last performance in the movie. Made me sigh.
