  1. Irene Dunne was attractive but Cary Grant was drop dead gorgeous. I didn’t see them as physically compatible but the movie was incredibly touching and they both did a superb job.

  2. I noticed two bad things they did when caring for the baby. The mother lay the baby on her stomach to sleep and they slept with the baby in the bed between them, both linked to early death. Shows how much we've learned in even the basics since that time.

  3. Songs heard in this great film, along with W. Franke Harling's beautiful film score themes :
You Were Meant For Me 1929
    Just A Memory 1927
Hush-A-Bye, Ma Baby (The Missouri Waltz) 1916
(?)So Long, Samoa 1940 by Cole Porter (a.k.a. Farewell Amanda from the later film 'Adam's Rib')
    Auld Lang Syne 1788
Bridal Chorus (Here Comes the Bride) 1850
    The Wedding March 1842
    So Long, Samoa (ending)
    Poor Butterfly 1916
    The Japanese Sandman 1920

    Charleston 1923
    My Blue Heaven 1924
    Happy Birthday to You 1893
    Silent Night, Holy Night 1816
    Together 1928
I'm Tickled Pink With A Blue Eyed Baby 1930
    The Moon Was Yellow 1934
These Foolish Things (Remind Me Of You) 1934
Three O' Clock in the Morning 1922
    Ain't We Got Fun? 1921
    The Prisoner's Song 1924

  4. years and years again I've seen this jewel from TV in black & white. Dubbed to our language. I was about five then and now …. ages and ages away I am 52 and I think this jewel is still shining brightly.

  5. I just started becoming a fan of Cary Grant. I’ve seen “An Affair to Remember” and “Charred”. Thank you for this colorized version of this movie I’d to see some more of his colorized as well thanks again.

  6. This is one of my favorite movies, along with Portrait of Jennie, Song of Bernadette and King of Kings. This broke my heart the first time I watched it, to watching it now. A profound story of love and loss.

  7. We are apparently supposed to imagine that @ 6:12, as they come out of the record shop, Cary is lugging a box of 78s under his arm – This is a bit fanciful ! A box that size full of old records wouldn't be very easy for anyone to carry with both hands – Oh, well, it wouldn't have made a good screenplay if he'd used a hand truck !

  8. I'm 52yrs old, I've always loved the classics, I can't believe I've never seen this one…one of the best, the loss of Trina was so unexpected, so strange how the movie had drawn me in, that I was feeling the emotions of the lead actors, anger, sorrow, loss, guilt…and love…now THAT is great movie making, and that's why I love the classics…

  9. What a beautiful movie, yet so rich in emotion. The old actors really knew how to act. Thank you to the uploader.

  10. Whoever prompted the little girl in the judge's chamber and the person who handled the editing did an amazing job with this tiny actress. They made her look like she understood everything that was happening!

  11. This is a tearable film the script was rubbish…the lead actress was lousy… the direction and editing rubbish…the only thing I could say was any good was crry Grant's preformance….save your self thre 2 hours of torture and the time you'll never get back and skip this one!!!.???
