  1. Brilliant romantic drama at its best. The house depicted in the film was actually the home Richard Quine had built for Kim and himself after they were to have gotten married; unfortunately for him, it never worked out.

  2. This was a great movie, quite ahead of its time. It did not know that Hollywood was making such films back than. Showing the tragedy that often lays in longtime realtionships and lacking the usual happy ending. I'am impressed.

  3. The cars in all the background shots and in traffic are totally beautiful. Not at all like cars today where the make and model can't be distinguished without reading the emblems.

  4. Don't treat your woman live way they did in the 60s I just want to let you know that wouldn't be right love them and hold them and keep them close cuz that's the only way you can have real love

  5. This is one long movie I just got to tell you that I must repeat about two or three times by mistake this movie to me has taken me three hours to get through

  6. The truth is Kim Novak is in a loveless marriage just like today. Divorce was prevalent in those days. That’s why she dressed sexy when her husband came home. She’s starving for affection. At the beginning remember the mother of Kim Novak had the same experience years before. Even the mother knows her daughter is unhappy and in a bad marriage. People in those days didn’t quickly run to get a divorced. The mother meets Kirk Douglas and even says “so it happened “! The house became a symbol of their love where they would meet. It was there special house and as the house developed so did their love. Even at the end they really loved each other and both returned to their spouses accustomed to the times even if their marriages could never attain such a wonderful and beautiful love.

  7. People talking about Maggies husband! Speculating he was homosexual. Don't you realize, in 1960 and before, there were no homosexuals ! 😉
