Ah yes, Heather Tom, who acts as Victoria Newman in Y&R, i knew she looked familiar.
This is a true story that is pretty close to the actual case. The real father was Tom Bonney, his daughter Kathy and the wife. He was originally sentenced to death but later it was changed to life in prison. His defense lawyers did try to use an insanity plea that he had multiple personalities. In the real case he found out that his daughter was having an affair with a married guy who worked for him. He than took the daughter for a ride in the camper and an argument pursued just like in this movie, with him taking the gun from her that she had grabbed from the glove department and shot her 27 times in anger.
