Your rip is the wrong aspect ratio, too narrow.
But thanks for the early movies. There are a few others that can't be found, and they must be public domain now.
Looks perfectly fine to me – this was shot and released in something close to 1.37:1 – the old academy ratio, it isn't a widescreen film, which is why there are black bars to left and right of frame.
This and just about every other Hammer film remains in copyright – though some territories may have seen the copyright lapse.
Dick Barton was one of many names on a long list. Barton seems to have been settled on fairly quickly – the Dick (being short for Richard) may also have alluded to the American term for a private detective – a 'Private dick' – something audiences of the day would have appreciated.
I'd completely agree that AR needs going into at length. The black bars here seem to be part of YouTube's current formatting. Watching on a 16×9 monitor, it makes sense, but I haven't been able to check it on a 4×3 monitor yet.
As for whether the aspect should be 1.33 or 1.37 – strictly speaking, 1.37 would be accurate, as 1.33 was reserved for silent film. AFAIK, this rip is a 1.37, certainly standard rip as for old tv/video ratio.
I don't think Errol Flynn had anything to worry about at the time.

I can see why this is age restricted. The dialogue at 53.03 is risque in the extreme. 😉

Nothing like the radio dick Barton story leaves a lot to be desired, I wish they had made the radio play far superior in every aspect ,the acting is dreadful in this awful film
never ever saw any dick barton movie. but sure did listen to the wireless. better than fish and chips to a bermondsey boy and his 3 brothes.
I was an avid Dick Barton fan as a young lad. 6.45 pm every weekday evening, with an omnibus edition on Saturday. I never forgave the BBC for taking it off and replacing it with 'The Archers '.
this vid is filled with loud boring adverts as are all hammer uploads, if you agree with having loud boring adverts watch otherwise boycott.
Everyone in this film is completely incompetent! And all they ever say is "Good afternoon," and talk about getting Dick!
