  1. hated seeing randy scott playing a tenderfoot lawyer.the next year he was fantastic in WESTERN UNION 1941 playing a reformed outlaw.

  2. JESSE JAMES 1939,started the outlaw cycle, this film came next then BILLY THE KID 1941.brian donlevy and randy scott both were in jesse James, here they are again in the film.,brian donlevy would next be in billy the kid 1941 with Robert taylor.same story as jesse James where they take farm away from the title characters.

  3. I was enjoying it as soon as I read the cast, and it did not disappoint. Absolutely must agree that it is one of the best westerns ever – and I've seen a lot of them! And Andy Devine as a bad guy, now that was a treat!

  4. Edgar Buchanan – not even mentioned in the movie credits was the narrator and blacksmith at the beginning and end of the movie.
William Edgar Buchanan II was an American actor with a long career in both film and television, most familiar today as Uncle Joe Carson from the Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, and The Beverly Hillbillies television sitcoms of the 1960s.Wikipedia

  5. Lots of outstanding horsemanship, trained horses, and stunt actions in this flick. Broderick Crawford shows well as a tough guy while Randolph Scott takes the easy-going passive gentleman's role. Thanks f.c.

  6. Or, The Art of the Stuntman. Terrifically entertaining, everything held in a perfect balance. Andy Devine was even tolerable; Crawford, why he's underrated. The $1 Death photos ring a little too familiar, don't they? Top notch.

  7. This is by far one of the best westerns of all time! Damn! The story, acting, and cinematography are excellent! Thanks for posting such a treasure!

  8. THE TRAGIC DALTON BROS. WERE CHEAP CROOKS, VICTIMS OF THE USUAL FAKE NEWS FOLLOWING SOME MINOR FORAY. THEY GOT SHOT UP BAD WHEN THEY TRIED TO LIVE UP TO THEIR MANUFACTURED REPUTATION ATTEMPTING TO PULL OFF A HEIST. EMMETT DALTON SURVIVED THE ENSUING SHOOTOUT, DID TIME THEN MOVED TO HOLLYWOOD AND ACTUALLY BECAME THE WORST ACTOR TO EVER PORTRAY EMMETT DALTON IN THE MOVIES.
