  1. Interesting try but no one has ever captured Modesty Blaise on film the way she should be portrayed. As someone who came up the hard way, someone who worked hard at becoming the deadly Modesty Blaise. The connection between Modesty and Willie was extraordinary.

  2. Camp, beautiful, fun! Feminist and light-hearted. This is truly what James Bond should be: a woman! Modesty and Willie are marvelous (Monica Vitti and Terence Stamp). Dirk Bogarde as the villain Gabriel with equally evil Rossella Falk as Fothergill are fun! With beautiful photography and cool production by Joseph Janni, this film is pure old 60’s at its best. Including totally politically incorrect Saudi last-minute rescuers. Modesty Blaise and the comic strip by Peter O’Donnell deserved to become a franchise! Much more modern than than James Bond ?

  3. A joy to watch for the sets and the frivolity. Good sixties stuff. Hopeless plot, silly characters, inane dialogue, who cares? A bit like 'Casino Royale' which was of that period. Not to be taken seriously, folks.

  4. Dick Bogarde. An enigma in a puzzle. Great actor never boring to watch in hit or miss movies & after his 1950-60s main body of work he became less a mainstream actor & a European art cinema actor not for the faint hearted. A good James Bond 007 would have been fantastic rather than Roger Moore but sadly can't think he done any telly work oddly & of course not gay..!

  5. This was the silliest film I have ever seen. It was in a way fun still..I could not watch it straight I kept forwarding it and the colours and the art y set really disturbed me. But of course, I would not miss any Dirk Bogarde film..so I have tried. I would say this is not going to be my favourite.
