My favourite Richard Widmark film. And a poignant ending for the Thelma Ritter character. She is such a class act. She was nominated for an Oscar in this film but she didn't win it, in fact, she was nominated 6 times in total and was never the winner. A travesty if ever there was one.
Jean Peter's portrayal of a street smart tough girl is awesome. She's super hot, strong, and has morals even though she's not above breaking the law for a buck. I'd marry her in a heartbeat based on her loyalty factor alone.
