  1. Been reading a lot of the comments, I guess I'm not the only Dan Duryea fan! LOL! I think he's really at his best when he plays the bad guy, his acting is simply great!

  2. DAN DUREA DOES A FINE JOB THROUGHOUT THIS ENTIRE FILM. BUT IS MOST CERTAINLY IS A MOST IMPROBABLE STORY ALL THE WAY AROUD, AS WELL AS SOME OF THE ODDEST CASTING I'VE EVER SEEN. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE THE FILM IS EXTRAORDINARILY FILMED BY BY JOSEPH BIROC. IN A BEDROOM SCENE THE CAMERA SHOOTS THROUGH THE SCROLLWORK OF THE IRON BACKBOARD OF A BED, THEREBY CUTTING US OFF FROM THE ACTORS, BUT, HE THEN FILMS THEIR ACTION, REFLECTED IN A MIRROR. WHICH PULLS US THROUGH THE IRON GRILL INTO A DEPTH OF ACTION NOT NORMALLY POSSIBLE. HE USES MANY SUCH DEVISES THROUGHOUT THE FILM. THE PHOTOGRAPHERS GENIUS MAKES THIS OTHERWISE NOT VERY INTERESTING FILM CINEMATOGRAPHICALLY FASCINATING. WELL WORTH WATCHING AGAIN, JUST FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHY. THE ONLY ACTOR WORTH WATCHING IS DUREA, WHICH IS ODD AS SOME OF THE OTHERS HAVE DONE FINE WORK IN OTHER FILMS, THEY JUST DON'T JELL HERE.

  3. "Julian loved me because i was a tramp…how dare you think i was a fine, upstanding girl" This is the girl he loves? So much for being a smart, streetwise guy!

  4. World for Ransom (1954) Film noir movie full length 0918am /5/21 an apt film. people being ~"persecuted" for not being junkies is a case in point… something to study for future reference…

  5. A private eye working in Singapore is asked by his ex-girlfriend to investigate her husband, who she fears is involved in crime. The private eye finds himself caught up in a plot hatched by Alexis Paderas to kidnap a top nuclear scientist and ransom his bomb-making expertise to the highest bidder and only the PI, and a suspicious British intelligence agent, can rescue him.

  6. Drinks all around at the Golden Poppy… Great flick. Dan certainly holds own , as he always does..

  7. Dan Duryea is such a good actor. I thought I had seen them all, but 'Broken Trout' keeps delivering the goods. A great film to watch on a raining morning in Finland.

  8. Dan Duryea how could anyone not love this actor. I luv the way he delivers his lines and when all other actors where saying "sweetheart" in varing ways, he used kitten. I kinda like it . lol

  9. The cast was interesting but the story was absurd and mixed up. The lighting and cinematography was of a high standard except for the corny shootout at the end. Finally, the protagonist's love interest was oddly treated and a scene was cut by the censor because Frenessey March was revealed to be a lesbian, explaining Mike Callahan's disgust with her. Viewers must have speculated that the whole story was about a man who was nice to a prostitute which is why she married him instead of another man who actually loved her but gave her up at the end without an explanation. The stomic bomb thing was laughable.

  10. I wonder, was this Dan's first movie? Thanks so much I thought it was predictable except that they didn't say what happened to the injured cop.

  11. Holy CRAP that dancer that appears at 12:45 is -U-G-L-Y-!!!!! I think they're trying present her as a hot commodity. She literally looks like she belongs in a horror movie
