Gregory Peck, my favourite actor, and what a wonderful voice.
Thanks for sharing. It is nice to have a good movie to watch during all the other stuff going on.
Amazing film. Truly fantastic. I wish we all could see a film this great, to have that moment when we knew it was over and just saw beauty. Not many moments in life when we know we saw something awesome and it will never happen again.
Awesome movie, wish I could have watched with my dad!.
One of the very best.
Words can describe how satisfying it was when the villain gets slapped and told to keep his mouth shut.
A favorite, definitely a classic. Thanks for the upload
Massmo, I cannot thank you enough for this…you must be quite the fan of classic cinema…and a very generous person…
Two of the best westerns of all time – The Gunfighter with Gregory Peck and Shane with Alan Ladd. The latter is my No.1 pick followed closely by the above. Brilliant!
Peck is a master
Can anyone suggest more films like this? Planning to watch all his films I love the 50's
How come he's gotta run into a squirt like
Eddie nearly every place he goes these days?
One of my top ten westerns. The western as tragic myth. And Peck should have payed Shane.
. Since 1972 Our women killed 50 million kids, so soon we’ll be all dead.
he did not die. hunt missed ringo. ringo is seen riding off and will return in a year. his woman and son took the name and are waiting for him to return.
Great movie! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Kirk Douglas
Alan O .. Churchill cried when he heard the word Comradeship and Country….you’re amongst a band of memorability and a tincture ?
The line at the beginning…'well, if he aint so tough there's been a lot of sudden natural deaths in his vicinity'…i probably butchered the quote but now i have to stay up and watch this. Thanks for the post!
Nice movie … Portrays life true situation at those times…. . Both Gregory and The marshal acted well …. They both also stared in another movie , this time a WW II movie named 12'o Clock High ….
Pathetic. Pathetic intro and pathetic music soundtrack. I stopped before the credits did
This is one of the ten greatest westerns of all time. Gregory Peck at his very best. Glad to see it on YouTube.
The ending is quite open to the imagination of the viewer, a coffin closed, and a guy riding to the sun. I just think he fakes its own dead, I mean the guy didn't hit him or at least not wounding him badly. Not his intention, that brat really wanted to kill Ringo but Ringo take advantage of the situation.
This is the only way to get away from all these people looking for revenge or fame and have a normal with his family. Or you can think he just died.
Sad ending, I would say this western is among the best, no doubt
Jimmy Ringo was wrong. Hunt Bromley bested every shootist who challenged. Born in 1840 was 25 years old at the time of him fairly shooting Jimmy Ringo he went on to have the most prolific gun fighting record that has never been surpassed. In 2017 at the age 177 years he lost his last gunfight to Mika O'Plasty. All witnesses stated it was a fair fight even though of the vast age difference. Mr. O'Plasty was seventeen years old at the time. Further research revealed that O'Plasty was a distant relative of Lizzie Borden if you wish to have these references please ax me a specific question. RIP Hunt the massive cover up to defame your good name will be revealed.
I love these classic westerns
Great movie.
One of the best classics of all time. Love the scene with his son.
Wow take that Eddie little punk
Excellent film. Thank you.
This RIP sucked…on all levels. Jews only wrote good scriptsa year ago. It only took 40 yrs. LefttardF'ers.
Happy 70th to “The Gunfighter” today! A good reminder that the demystifying of the West began long before the ‘70s.
Good movie 👍 Couldn't believe they shut down the town to look at a gunfighter.
Who is the actor that played Hunt?
The typical small country town, church goers, prejudists, gossipers and selfish.
Very righteous! God bless them…
Gregory Peck has something extra as far as I'm concerned, he stands apart from the rest of the top actors in the way he treats everyone with this humane equanimity but in a big tough guy way with his rough rugged voice and his solemn stern face.
Yellow Sky, Gunfighter and Bravados are his three best westerns. Greg is so tough but he also really breaks your heart.
These used to play all these 40s 50s 60s movies on tv back in the 1970s & 1980s when I was growing up.

I was glued. It's a top class western despite the lack of gun fighting.
I heard a woman said:If you are anything like Gregory Peck I will marry you.
Q
I can't watch new movies. All garbage. Bunch of trash actors that couldn't carry water for the Likes of Gregory Peck
“What about this?! Ain’t some of you fellas in charge of this donkey?!”
This takes me back to the mustache era of the 1970s. I think I will grow mine back.
Nice to see Eddie falling by Ringo's fast Gun, ever and ever again.. – Because: Eddie deserved it, like all those stupid Jerks all around the World, they deserve it.. – always, everywhere, everytime. – Fine Sequence! 🙂
What a film. What a moral story. What a man’s man GP was.
Hollyweird and it’s commie actors couldn’t hold a candle to this filmmaking today.
Anyone else think the punk looks like "Johnny Wadd" Holmes?
One of the best. Funny, but the older I get when I see this one, the harder it is to fight the lump in my throat and hold back the tears.
You feel bad for Ringo but when you consider all the harm he'd done in his lifetime he didn't really deserve to retire in peace. Being shot in the back seems like a fitting end.
1:19:50 Life lesson. 💀
