The good old days when Life was simple ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ
I was Born in 1940, It was great to see many of this films again. Here in Sรฃo Paulo Brasil.,..
I thought at first it was called 'Finger Man' because the protagonist was a pianist…
Poor Gladys…
Hey a movie about Don Lemon. Who knew.
34:05 "I ask only two things…. I must have loyalty." Creepy.
good one!!
Who's watching this during lockdown 2020? Looove these black and white movies and have watched so many since lockdown!! It's like a meditation for me ๐ Thanks for posting! Love from England ๐
boring
1:37 That fellow sure looks a lot like Bob Crane.
Much better than I expected. The first half drags a little, but the second half justifies it. Lovejoy and Castle were great, and made their characters real but likeable. Tucker did a great job of NOT overplaying the Becker character. The only minor problem was that Carey's portrayal of Terpe was not realistic at all. Real psychopaths do not behave over-the-top like that.
But overall, a very good, well-written, well-directed film that is worth watching more than once. Thanks for posting it.
Sad movie. I hate pimps. Always have. This came out about a year after I was born. What a different age it was back then. And I lived then and now. I prefer then.
The pacing of a mandatory union picnic.
I saw Joi Lansing in a bit part in the begining.
Love the classic black and whites this one included ๐
Somehow I feel like I have to smoke a cigarette to watch this movie.
Imbecilic plot with cheesy productions values, and wooden high school level acting.
Deserves to be on MSFT 3000…..so bad, but not in a good way.
No, just bored sorry
Creepy and sadistic, worse than the real criminals were.
I love and prefer the old black and white movies then today's movies you can't beat a great night in with an old movie
" He has no conscience, no soul. Enough men like Becker could destroy a nation." Sounds like our so-called president.
Thanks, Chris T, for the upload. Though Frank Lovejoy and Peggie Castle sadly didn't make old bones (he died at 50, heart attackโโshe at 45, alcohol-induced liver failure), they left their mark on the world.
I'm the finger man!!!!
@8:14 it sounds like he is describing the Democrats under the control of the DS
Is every B/W, crime drama a "film noir"? Legit question.
I saw Join's Lansing in a bit part in the beginning .
NOT BAD
Lovejoy is always good
This is a great film, actually. Great film about ethics and right living and great for a rainy Sunday afternoon.
Frank Lovejoy! Peggie Castle!
Other than a little guy beating up big guys throughout the movie a realistic and good movie
I see Timothy Carey and I get set for a real charge.
BGMusic is awesome
The actress who plays the character Gladys Baker that was killed off in this movie was Peggie Castle. She had parts in about 31 various movies, and also about that many various TV productions. She also played the part of Lily Merrill, the saloon keeper, in the TV series "Lawman" that run for about 4-5 seasons. She play in 105 episodes of it. The series was cancelled in about 1962. She retired from acting in 1966 at the age of 39. She passed away in Hollywood in 1973 at the age of 45 of alcoholism. She was a good actress but just never made it to the top of her profession. She once said that she liked acting in movies more than TV because an actor had more time to act and was paid better. She was married four times and had one daughter born in 1963 who is now an actress. She has her own star on the walkway.
