  1. In reality, the charwoman would never have been allowed to participate in the conversation between the lawyer and the director of the women's prison as it is shown from 40:17. Besides, the director calls what she had heard from the charwoman "facts". This is unrealistic too, at least today. Nevertheless, a very nice movie.

  2. Misogynistic male gatekeepers of hollywood!
Didn’t they know that 50 years on, men of their ilk would be me-too’d into casting females in god-awful action roles traditionally casted with men. Way to ruin it for everyone. Now people can see that women had it pretty good with starring roles. Didn’t they realize that there weren’t supposed to be any Leading Oppressed Faces in films. Jeeze.
….Oh and without having seen a preview, Harriet Tubman will win best picture this year (not a far leap i realize) in this identity political vomit world of crazy we now inhabit

  3. I see where a young J Gleason would have romantic interludes with Joan Crawford and Ann Sheridan . His short stay at Warner Bros.. He must have been busy. Also in this movie , the previously mentioned William Hopper , before war service turned his hair grey. And the Frank Wilcox, Mr. Brewster from the BH, a handsome man in younger days. The star of this opus was Faye Emerson, a icon of early television known for low cut dresses.

  4. There's something wrong with the FPS (Frames per Second) on this print? Seems to me like maybe this was grabbed off a screen? Idk. Somethings not right with the motion/time element. Feels like rough waters at sea.

  5. Lady Gangster……………I expected her to be a female Al Capone, not a one hit wonder bank robber who gets herself busted the first time out.

  6. Low budget film.
Of the many, which were filmed, during World War II. Some emerged from those films as future stars (Jackie Gleason and William Hopper)

  7. THANK YOU! I love the tougher women of the time and everyone talks at the perfect rhythm-clip to get through the story in an hour instead of two. Really worth the time. Many thanks!
