Fast moving, entertaining movie. Good cast, including young Jackie Gleason! I enjoyed every minute.👍
Too bad these actresses were cast in crime & hed up as role models for so many girls🤔
Upskirt scene of Julie Bishope that should have been cut from movie. 34:21
Very good movie thx !
Nvm nvm
A beutiful radio at 57:23, maybe a "Silvertone".
In reality, the charwoman would never have been allowed to participate in the conversation between the lawyer and the director of the women's prison as it is shown from 40:17. Besides, the director calls what she had heard from the charwoman "facts". This is unrealistic too, at least today. Nevertheless, a very nice movie.
Soooooooo much DRAMA packed into one hour! Better by far then today's movies!👍

The only good actors in this movie were Jackie Gleason and the lip reading gal.
Don’t you just love 💕 those homey Cells the ladies got back in the day 😉
Bad video
Watch later. Thanks looks good quality
at 54:35… dead man
This was a remake Barbara stanwick was in the first one
He was beautiful in drag wasn't he? 😆
3:15. She's up for parole and the news paper puts it all across in big block letters , front page.
I hope they had a cushion for that dog to drop onto.
julie bishop eh! thank you for this movie. good storyline and enjoyable.
Why do I feel Perry Mason about to walk in?
Misogynistic male gatekeepers of hollywood!
Didn’t they know that 50 years on, men of their ilk would be me-too’d into casting females in god-awful action roles traditionally casted with men. Way to ruin it for everyone. Now people can see that women had it pretty good with starring roles. Didn’t they realize that there weren’t supposed to be any Leading Oppressed Faces in films. Jeeze.
….Oh and without having seen a preview, Harriet Tubman will win best picture this year (not a far leap i realize) in this identity political vomit world of crazy we now inhabit
👍
How did Dot Burton not get more time added to her sentence for breaking out?
that is paul drake with black hair..
America was racist back in those days..Notice only white's are in jail. Not blacks..
Jackie Gleason looking extremely handsome.
Americans doing what only they can do like no other..snitching ! 🤣🤣🤣
Man with knife running amok.
is this a re-make of "ladies they talk about" with stanwyck?
I see where a young J Gleason would have romantic interludes with Joan Crawford and Ann Sheridan . His short stay at Warner Bros.. He must have been busy. Also in this movie , the previously mentioned William Hopper , before war service turned his hair grey. And the Frank Wilcox, Mr. Brewster from the BH, a handsome man in younger days. The star of this opus was Faye Emerson, a icon of early television known for low cut dresses.
During the 40's I was a kid in SF; great restaurants and even cooler movies; I'm in my 70's.
Most of the inmates in that prison could be beauty queens and that little thin stool pigeon had a well developed little body.
We miss your films!!!
There's something wrong with the FPS (Frames per Second) on this print? Seems to me like maybe this was grabbed off a screen? Idk. Somethings not right with the motion/time element. Feels like rough waters at sea.
Lady Gangster……………I expected her to be a female Al Capone, not a one hit wonder bank robber who gets herself busted the first time out.
Low budget film.
Of the many, which were filmed, during World War II. Some emerged from those films as future stars (Jackie Gleason and William Hopper)
Paul Drake from Perry
Mason
Good Gangster.
Every now and again she looks like… Maureen O'Hara. PS. Not a bad film. More than expected.
A young Jackie Gleason- WOW!!!!!
Nothing better then the 40 s movies, just love .
that looks like a young william hopper aka paul drake
THANK YOU! I love the tougher women of the time and everyone talks at the perfect rhythm-clip to get through the story in an hour instead of two. Really worth the time. Many thanks!
That movie was swell!!!!
