  1. Im so glad i put this video up. I must say this movie and guy changed my life and perspective of jazz for life. Other people my age think its boring…..I find it intriguing.???? rest in peace gene!!!

  2. Gene Krupa was a friend of mine, a great artist and a great teacher. I only wish that they would have put more effort into his musical history rather than his mistakes as a human being. Because that impacted his wife for the last 30 years. He was a musician and in my mind there was no one that could compare to his Talent. Sincerely, JW Miller ????

  3. Krupa was a bit of a showboat . good looking. what woman refer to as a dreamboat . in those early days of jazz bands , the band leaders supported segregation within the band. black musicians were not allowed to work along side white musicians. the white audiences had no idea how amazing black drummers were. gradually years later things changed and jazz bands became less segregated. My favorite jazz drummers were Pa Pa Joe Jones and Buddy Rich. the early Jazz bands and Jazz itself were called Jass bands , but it was changed because graffiti artists would blot out the J and it would spell Ass band. i am not joking. i believe Krupa and Rich would exchange technical stuff about drumming. from what i understand Buddy Rich could be feisty , but it was in response to hecklers in the clubs that were drunk and abusive. Buddy studied martial arts . not a guy to disrespect . he was a joker , quick witted and opinionated . a child prodigy who's parents had a vaudeville act. he would close there act by playing the Stars and Stripes on a snare drum when only 3 years old. he was called Traps the Drum Wonder . wish they would make a movie of his life. one of Johnny Carson's favorite and frequent guests on his show. this was a sturdy little movie i enjoyed it.

  4. there is a documentary on the origins of the Federal governments insane demonization of Marijuana . has a lot to do with racism .African Americans & Mexican Migrant workers. they smoked pot it was part of there culture and pot is not nearly as destructive as booze and tobacco. whats really dangerous sometimes is the stupidity of our government and the ignorance of many people who vote for political hacks.
