  16. I just love Vera West gowns. Wish we dressed like the women in Sherlock movies! Absolutely adore the relationships of Rathbone, Bruce and Hoey. Just love the whole experience.

  21. These two are great as Holmes and Watson but the person that adapted this story clearly had never read any of the books as Holmes was in London around 1880 – 1890. So there were no cars and in the shooting gallery there will be no Hitler. Plus in the books there was only ever one "woman" as Holmes called her and that was Irene Adler. So clearly this did not start out as a Sherlock Holmes story. I loved these frowing up as they were perfect as Holmes and Watson but they should have stuck to the books and not just made up stories for them or moved them in time 60 or 70 years.

  30. SPOILER ALERT. Holmes couldn't connect the deaths with an insurance broker so had to go into hiding and didn't immediately go after the Woman accompanied by a young boy (which can't have been difficult – he knows where her flat is – both of whom tried to commit a double murder? (And gave her a £100 cigarette box which he specially engraved with her logo…) Insurance companies don't pay up for suicides, am l missing something? ( I am surfing and watching at the same time so every chance there.) A tiny amount of gas was enough to knock them out but a roomful of gas couldn't??? Mmmm not the best story line for analysers. Basil Rathbone carries the film along fortunately and is excellent as Sherlock Holmes bringing him to life from a script that was dead in the water.

  31. I cant hardly understand everything but the original Voice are really nice…the German translator voices are not even so good! I love these old english Sherlock Holmes films?
