  1. seen this movie for the first time today. very good.set in newcastle. lots of famous names in the early parts of there careers. this copy here does not really do it justice. available on d.v.d.

  2. So many goofs in this film The motorcycle cop had the badge of the Met on his helmet. The level crossing is claerly marked North Sheen Station which is next to Richmond Surrey. The mob all had London accents.

  3. Wow, that was great! Very tense and exciting. The planning is meticulous but you can spot the weak links immediately, you're just not sure which one will lead to the ultimate downfall. To watch how this crime affects each and every character is fascinating, from pure greed to righteous revenge. The criminal greed infects and takes down the gang one by one, like dominoes. Excellent, outstanding crime drama. Thanks so much for posting this Jesse Poli.

  4. These b-movies – or support films, I think we called them in the UK – were a bit 'make do and mend', but they did give valuable early experience to some good actors.  Here, for instance, we had a young Billie Whitelaw and Tom Bell.  They could still remake this as a decent crime film today.  But yeah, the accents and locations were a bit all over the place, and the music was totally inappropriate.  The director, Sidney Hayers, had quite an interesting CV.  He later did The Trap (1966), an adventure film with Ollie Reed and Rita Tushingham.

  5. This film has most of the big name English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish stars of that time…and someone below calls it a B movie…not to we English it isn't !
