Thanks for sharing this great movie which could be described as Grand Hotel crosses the Atlantic. This is my first Alice White movie and I look forward to watching the others that you have posted. Having grown up only knowing Frank Morgan as the Wizard of Oz it is great seeing him here (basically playing Warren William). It is always a treat to see C Aubrey Smith and George Brent as well.
Fun! Uprated. No vibrating engines, special tables to keep things from rolling off them, seasickness, reference to the strong odors, et c. Fantasia! Escapism!

This was the earliest film I've ever seen George Brent in and he was ok. One of the BEST movies he was ever in was also Bette Davis' finest film, called Dark Victory. They were marvelous in it.

Luxury Liner is a terrific, entertaining drama from 1933 with a very talented cast. Alice White gives a delightful performance and the movie is worth watching just to see her.
As the film begins we see a large ship ready to depart from Europe to America and we meet some of the passengers. There is Dr. Thomas Bernard (George Brent) who is trying to win back his ex-wife (Vivienne Osborne), Miss Morgan (Zita Johann) is the ships nurse who never dates, Milli Stern (Alice White) a third class passenager who desperately wants to be in first class, Edward Thorndyke (C. Aubrey Smith) a former millionaire who's just been released from jail, and Alex Stevenson (Frank Morgan) who wants to romance an opera singer.
While Dr Bernard fights to get his wife back, Milli comes up with a scheme to make money in stock market. Of course there is a lot of drama and fighting and a little romance.
This movie has a great sound track, and great music. I just knew that C. Aubry Smith, was gonna save the day for steerage. Frank Morgan in a dramatic role. Too much i could say, i give this, TWO BANJO'S! And it ends with the theme Lover!

This was creepy! Ol doc was going to kill a man over his wife but she got his gun and did it, then killed herself and before they pulled her body from the sea doc was making out his nurse who killed her own two kids. Makes me ashamed to be human, and to have watched this dookie to the end!
OMG! I loved this flick and am an aficionado of this era. Thanks for posting and thank Zeus for the golden age of cinema. (Which this just barely qualifies for, but still).

thank you Cathleen Smith for the spoiler, you must be a lot of fun. Loved the movie, nothing creepy about this movie. "I'm going down. I can see that." LMAO. Worst line in the whole movie was " A man can accomplish anything with a woman by his side." What a crock. I did it without a woman.
