In the American southwest the governor asks the Lone Ranger to investigate the strange raids on white settlers by Native Americans. Reese Kilgore a wealthy rancher wants to expand his land to include Spirit Mountain sacred tot he Indians. The Lone Rangers finds out that both of these events are related.

Your describtion is misleading. You give the plot of the Warners color feature Lone Ranger released in 1956. This is the first episode of the trilogy TV show showing how the Lone Ranger came to be. Both starred Clayton Moore but one was in color and a theatrical feature. The other was for television.

Interesting beginning. Tonto has many of the ideas in setting up the legend. He suggests the mask, and designs it. He says that Reid is alone, now he is the lone ranger. He names Silver. He defines Kemo-Sabe. The story line is that Tonto and Lone Ranger begin their partnership chasing the Cavendish gang, However, they act as if they had worked together for a while, have code signals such as the 'owl.' At the end he has been called The Lone Ranger, as if he had been active for awhile.
