IRONIC, for this colorized version they would have been better off doing what they did when the movie was first released and just presented a red tinting effect for the Mars scenes as the ground as well as sky all have a reddish tone (actually more like light orange) rather than blue skies. It would have been easier and slightly more accurate (not that scientific accuracy is this film's strongest suit).
   Mars DID turn out to look quite a bit like the Mars seen in this film, which also included dried river formations, thought to be NOT accurate for many years, until satellite views of Mars revealed just such dried out river formations. Another interesting sort of prescient visual is the look design of the rocket sure resembles the SpaceX starship quite a bit. (Hmm, maybe they SHOULD take some rifles and guns with them when they land on Mars for real: Martian cavemen may be waiting. ;-7

41. SpaceX's Starship looks a bit like Rocketship X-M. I'm not sure why the classic films need to be "updated" with someone's guess about what the colors on the sets may have looked like.
