A police lt. is ordered to stop investigating deadly crime boss Mr. Brown, because he hasn’t been able to get any hard evidence against him. He then goes after Brown’s girlfriend who despises him, for information instead.

Love Conte, but not so much as a bad guy.
Jerky video. Instead of 24 fps this film is process much lower which give it the jerky picture when something moves.
Little late to the scene. Feels like fans of noir made a film noir. Lacks the soul the years before brought. But it delivers well.
Good film noir, with very ahead of times, obvious oral sex scene ( Richard Conte and Jean Wallace) and homosexual overtones with Conte's muscle guys , Earl Holiman and Lee Van Cleef.
