Two soldiers of fortune, Harry Grigsby and Kip Thompson, used to be the best of friends when they fought side by side in the Congo. But now Kip has changed sides and Grigsby does not forgive him for what he regards as a betrayal, all the more as Thompson now turns his guns against Grigsby’s troops and, accordingly, against his former friend. While he is London recovering from tuberculosis, Grigsby is assigned a new mission that he gladly accepts: to eliminate Thompson, now in Hong Kong causing tensions with neighboring China by creating border incidents.

  1. That's General Viers ("Empire Strikes Back"} at 1:11:21. The publicity about the Wagner Group reminds me of this movie. One thing the movie gets right is how govts will use mercenaries to achieve an objective even if they don't want to officially get involved in a conflict.

  2. She was killed after she had made love with the other man during her husband's absence ,of there is a proverb in Korea that he /she was punished by Heaven .
And it seems to have been filmed before Hong Kong belonged to China which has been oppressing people's freedom and right by communist dictatorship which I extremely hate.

  3. Never heard of this film. I'm guessing from the cast and production budget that there were high hopes from the producers. From the comments I suspect it has problems. I'll watch and judge myself. Thanks for posting it.

  4. Last watched this movie in 1977 while doing my first form. I have looked for it for a long time. I appreciate you Flick Vault. Please post 'Violent Breed' as well.

  5. What an terrible movie. Rule number one, when under heavy fire and no place to take cover, lie down and don't move, Rule number two, don't get in a truck. First of two hundred mistakes, the mg's barrel would have over heated and bent like a wet noodle long before he stopped firing.

  6. The effed up wife's insane attitude and response is precisely why the Brits effed up HK and is emblematic of how the CCP came to power the way it has over the past 30 years.

  7. Another movie in my area that aired more than once on the weekend, usually as a late movie, sometimes in the afternoon.
Others would be Thank Your Lucky Stars, Cassandra Crossing, The Eagle Has Landed.
This one aired early on as a late movie, showing that beginning with Cord shooting from the chopper.
Needless to say, that leaves an impression on an impressionable young mind. I never forgot who Alex Cord was after that.
The movie later did air during the daytime and I watched it then. Not sure now what I watched. Remembered the ending entirely.
To learn the title, had to look up Alex Cord and lo and behold, he passed five days ago. Go figure.

  8. Non boomers have no idea………….. Back in the day, before Netflix, HBO, etc., etc.,… You had only a few TV channels, if you were lucky you had an independent or two. Late at night, a week night or a Saturday afternoon.., a movie like this, exotic location, Bond Girl, action…you loved it……….. Thanks for the upload

  9. Saw this movie when it was first released. Always wanted to see it again but until now I couldn't locate it. Now I have seen it the second time and realize it wasn't very good the first time, but thanks for dredging up a movie from 50+ years ago.
