  1. Excellent film. Baker in his usual top form. But what a cast of cameos by actors who went on to be household names on tv incl. Glynn Edwards, Stephen Lewis, Stanley Meadows, Roddy McMillan, Garfield Morgan & Rodney Bewes. Not to mention film crew member Roger Marshall who co-created the brillant Public Eye and wrote for The Sweeney, The Persuaders, The Profesionals, Zodiac amongst an impressive resume.

  2. Superb from start to finish! Thank you for posting this, it shoulda and nearly got the Oscar that year. Lost of suspense, this is how to make a film ❤

  3. There is a B&W "home movie" short, without sound that someone shot during the filming of "Berserk", the British circus horror film starring Joan Crawford. Stanley Baker, who was NOT in the film, is there, at possibly the wrap party, smiling, signing autographs and mugging for the camera. It cuts to a scene where, still dressed in a suit, Baker is riding one of the circus elephants! Looked like a good time was had by all. It was a hoot to watch. 😁 I saw it some months back here on YouTube.

  4. Acting was acting those days. The voice and the face. That's it. People worked. No computer effects. Also people were people those days and we lived with racist remarks and got on with it.

  5. Stanley barker is great. Real blazing finale! Interesting cameo from Geoffrey Palmer and a few other well known faces. But why is there a Guards RSM, one of the most senior WOs in the entire British Army, doing at some indiscript depot? Shouldn't he be running Sandhurst or Trooping the Colour or something?

  6. It takes a huge suspension of disbelief to accept that this dodgy plan could succeed. Many details were left to hazard. Halfway through, I am through. In place of the Keystone Kops, this is the Keystone Krooks.

  7. Great beginning and middle… The ending sucked big time… I always cheer for the robbers. But nanny UK in that era never allowed blokes with balls and brains to win… Those military Muppets made me want to puke, 🤮 especially those chinless wonders from Sandhurst life taker collage… I was hoping that the big mouthed Sargent Major coped the business end of the lead baddies' flamethrower… 😵Where were they sending all that clueless schoolboy cannon fodder? 😵Wasn't UK conscription simply wonderful, chaps…? For the arms dealers and warmongers? 💀

  8. I Like HeistCaper flicks ,the intrigue ,complexity ,great stuff. All that went by the wayside ,when films stopped being art and became business ,business needing the widest scope has to appeal to the lowest common denominator ,that is ,not too bright. I didn't know Stanley Baker ,but I recognized his face ,always seemed to play the bad ass ,his appearance is definitely a sign of a good flick.
