  1. Quicksand culminates in a brilliant and unexpected reversal of fate, untypical for the 'film noir' genre. Rooney emerges as the redeemed anit-hero allwong the audience to experience the hope that one's life can turnaround and change for the better.

  2. Mickey Rooney started in Vaudeville at 16 months old. Judy Garland was 3 when she started.
All the best early actors with outsized personality and pizzazz were old Vaudeville actors.
They don’t make them like that anymore.

  3. a 101 of what not to do when doing crimes you could say also the perspective of a regular american joe down on his luck trying to get by and live a life he will love

  4. Great movie!!! Peter lorre and mickey rooney !!!! Such an amazing movie. The only thing was at the end, if the lawyer would have interrupted when the cop asked him, what did you do with the gun?? The lawyer should have said " dont answer that!!" That would have made it so much realistic!!!!! Because, thats a fact!

  5. great film,,sad that the great peter got such low billing in a 'b' picture,,,jeane cagney is good but who could seriously believe little micky would choose jean over that great looking brunette
