1. In my opinion, Brian Donlevy is
   the reason for the success of both Quatermass movies.

2. Came out one year after "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" came out.
   And I thought I was watching something novel.

4. DISASTROUS audio failure at the crucial point of 1:00:13 where Quatermass finally sees the massed aliens in the dome and James Bernard's horrific score is … ABSENT. Jesus!!!

5. I always found this film so believable because of it's use of a real location. Donlevy was an alcoholic and had trouble with his lines but was really good in this role. Tight little film with little waste. I remember how frightening it was when the aliens started forcing a human through the small tube. Geeze. Real horror there.

6. This is a good film, but it seems to go a bit flat for the finale. Quatermass & The Pit is the absolute classic screenplay of the series, with fantastic versions realised by both the BBC tv serial and the Hammer film. Both are amazing supernatural thriller/sci-fi.

   As an aside, there is a big detail faux pas in this Q2 film… Based upon where Winnendon Flats is supposed to be as specified in the opening scenes, the parliament parties going up there by car to visit from central London would have really struggled to get there and back the same day from a 2 pm departure time! It's simply too far! Especially in those slow old Rolls Royce limousines….

23. I was but a lad when this came out. It never made it to the Saturday Nights at the Cheapies TV shows in the states so, this is the first time I have seen it. I like it! It was non-stop and reasonably well acted. Maybe the fact that no one could hit anything with machine guns was a bit off but, it was still well done. It is now 0300 and time for bed! Thank you for keeping me up for much longer than normal. LOL

32. I saw this at a drive-in movie with my parents when I was a young, impressionable child, probably 5or 6 years old. It scared the bejesus out of me for years and it made it hard for me to go to sleep. I was terribly afraid one of those rock things would crash through my roof and infect me! I suffered for years because of this movie and couldn’t remember the name of it. Here I am in my 70’s looking at old sci-fi movies and here it is-Quatermas2. After 65 years I finally found the source of my nightmares for years, and it’s not all that scary as I watch it as an adult. 😅
