[Update: Okay, it's not that bad, but only because of the ending.] I like oldies, but this movie is dumb. The story line is crappy. Seems like they just wanted to put Rock Hudson in anything. Also, I'm sure it wasn't clear back then, but now knowing that he was gay, it's easy to see that in this movie. There's subtle body language that makes it obvious.

For years going to school days, I've heard this book title, like someone having to do a book report on it, and just by the title, I figured that it must be some kind of book, but never read the book. Finally watching the movie, I see the beautiful message it has in it Beautifully played, by wonderful actors. Rock Hudson has always been a favorite of mine, and for some reason Jane Wyman always reminded me some, of my mother, the way she smiles, and just seemed like she was a good hearted person. Thanks✌?

i loved the movie and enjoyed the book as1mistaGROOVE said it bears no resemblance to the book but to answer the question hollywood loved to mangle books a good example is james michners hawaii which is a huge book and yet they only used one part of the book for the movie but back to the book and this is true about most books that were adapted to screen they do get changed and sometimes it is to sell the movie or the actor not to the benefit of the book but to profits of the movie

Such a deep message for all of us if we are ready. Fantastic film.

Jane Wyman was married to Ronald Reagan. She left him bcs she stated he was so "boring." I believe her he was boring. I loved the old Rock Hudson movies. He was so handsome and so funny when acting with the lovely Doris Day. He was the first to bring Aids to America's attention. I do not care if he was gay but who would have thought that about him. He brought us joy!

It is beautiful movie. On the same theme, the movie named BANDAGI (OBSESSION) was made in 1972 in Pakistan. It was an excellent movie. Waheed Murad and Shabnam played leading roles. Both of them gave outstanding performance. One has to watch this movie. I must say it is the best movie I have ever seen. Simple love story with brilliant direction of Fareed Ahmed. My recommendation to watch this movie as well you might impress more than original version. BANDAGI is masterpiece movie. Its climax is symbolic.
