What’s simply astounding is that if made today this film would be met expensively with on-location filming in a foreign country, highly critiqued makeup, costly time consuming set & prop design & millions maybe nearly hundred millions of dollars in FX/SGI all in the intended purpose of realism.

    Yet this was filmed in the 1940s with none of that and even less, but created with being filmed in Studio Warehouses, casts with brilliant Actors/Actresses whom before acted in the Stage & Theatre, all prop & set design is handcrafted and filmed with the magic of fantastic writing, brilliant directing & an experienced Film Crew. Resulting in pure realism.

    I’ll take the latter any day 🙂
