Louis Jordan casts as a college alumnus named Lucius Brokenshire Jordan. Ware College, a small black college in Ware, Ohio has financial struggles. Now they try to their allumni for financial help. Unknown to management Louis Jordan is now the king of swing and leader of the Tympani band. When he learns about the college’s issues he supports their fund-raising show and also settles the issues with the crooked grandson, the Dean.

this movie got by me did not know about it
This is a national historical treasure. So many of these films have been lost. A salvage company in Texas threw lots of these types of films away before they discovered what they were. Some are being discovered and restored.
