  1. Proff shows it was more than likely, that Author Conan Doyle, was Jake the Ripper. He had exspireance as he went to medical school & had a mental problem of a serial killer.

  2. Howard's and Crawford's characters are much more believable than rathbone's and bruce's…………rathbone was flaming and bruce was scripted as an incompetent dolt.

  3. The end. That ridiculous cowgirl episode. What were they thinking. Not a good Sherlock episode. I can't bear to watch any more.

  4. I bought this whole series in the $5 bin at Walmart back when I was going through a divorce. I also bought the whole Alfred Hitchcock series. Good binge watching when you're going through a bad time.

  5. While enjoyable to watch, this duo is still a distant second to Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.I love Nigel Bruces portrayal, and he doesnt come across as a buffoon, but a gruff, lovable best friend.

  6. Good actors who give the characters of Arthur Conan Doyles “Sherlock Holmes“ a lively charme underlined with the very modern screenplay that reminds me of “Fear&Loathing“ :)) Don't know if it is recorded in this style or happened while copying and copying and so on :)) :)) :)) :)) somehow psychedelic :)) :)) :)) :))

  7. Seems to me the episodes (such as the first here) written/directed by Sheldon Reynolds were the best of the 39 episodes. I also think, and others below concur, that Ronald Howard was born to be Holmes and, had he found a starring role in the '60s, e.g. Simon Templar, he might have attained 'A' picture status, with his evident humour, suaveté and good looks. It can't be easy to live in the shadow of a strikingly similar-looking actor father.
