  1. This was a good episode. Good action and dialogue. Frank Ferguson with a little harder edge to him in this, but he made a fatal mistake. One of the few shows in this era to show blood when someone gets shot.

  2. Great western."hand on the gun " my favorite . Why does Dave tell the kid to take his spurs off for the fight . I would think they would be good to spur a guy in a fight .

  3. One of the better The Westerner series. This is classic Peckinpah with lots of action where too many of the others in the series were done for the ladies, like they say. Having Bob Wilke as the lead bad guy helps to make for better entertainment too.

  4. Peckinpah was in the bottle on this one…man steals your horse, saddle and rifle in a place and time when a man afoot was as likely to die as not, yet when you catch him there is dialog, then a fist fight. Bullshit.

  5. Wrong rifle and scope for the times and who in their right mind as a horse thief would ever leave someone alive after they stole their horse in those days when a horse thief was hung? In addition, why didn't they take his pistol before they left him? Really, really a bad shot for the bad man to be using a rifle with a scope at the short range from the cabin to the house and still miss so often.  Makes little sense, but still a fun episode to watch.

  6. Bob Wilke….great character actor.
"You can point that somewhere's else." Keith
1960 was pushing it for Westerns…….but this one was classic.

  7. In this show when the fists fly everything else comes undone, shirt tails, etc. Never saw so many belly's and such during fight scenes compared to other tv shows and movies. This is more realistic. 22:40 sam trying to show a Remington conversion in the hands of the old man.
