  1. First of all, I would like to say, thank you for sharing that film with us, SuperVintageCinema! 🙂  That said, I have to admit that I am a little bit disappointed.  Because the film did not follow the original short story very well.

There used to be a Canadian television series titled, Relic Hunter, Starring Tia Carrere and Christien Anholt. One episode of this series was called, "The Most Dangerous Game". In this episode, Sydney Fox (Carrere) was the hero, and the plot of this episode actually followed the original story more closely.  Maybe we could find the episode, using one of the search engines?

  2. Zaroff looks like he's barely putting up with Martin's drunkness and out-of-placeness, almost as if he's thinking "Oh God, why did they have to add this character?"

  3. I read the story in class and I absolutly loved it! But this I saw the film and I must say that I was disapointed that they didn't follow the stroy plot. And I also think that adding the girl in there was a terrible mistake. The original story had nothing to do woth love or a woman. I feel like by adding her in the story kinda took away a lot of the originality of the story and made it seem more as a romace/adventure film. But never the less, I'm at least happy that they made a film about it. The actors playing as Zaroff and Rainsford did very well and that's what I mainly loved about this short film. Although, I would have like to see more of Ivan in the film; I always liked the minor characters the best for some reason.

  4. Wonderful Movie!    This was one of my favorite short stories we had to read in High School 🙂    If anyone is interested in seeing another version, may I suggest the 1950's movie 'BloodLust'.   It stars the father from the Brady Bunch and is very well produced.

  5. Faye Wray has got to be the WORST actress throughout all time, bar none! Whether staring down a mad hunter or being carried up the Empire-State building by a monkey, her facial expressions and that one shriek she has are ridiculous. And apparently David O'Selznick could not be bothered by such cinematic constructs such as 'continuity'. lol. The best acting in this movie was the dogs. They should put those door knockers on the doors of the dorms of every woman's-study student in the country. lol. But throughout all this, I still found this movie entertaining… go figure.

  6. No, why did they add a girl! It was much better when Robert was alone by himself ; – ; ps not being sexist I'm a girl and I just thought the story was much better when there were only 3 characters involved

  7. book: Rainsford gets off a ship meets the antagonist and then has to survive the bloody pyscho from murdering him on the island in Zaroffs "game"

    movie: what the heck?

  8. guys if you are watching this for an English class don't, because this is way different from the book. Besides the book is way more suspenseful than this.

  9. I barely understand English so when I read this story many years ago I had a dictionary by my side, now I read it again but this time I have my cellphone instead that big dictionary I used to use but I still keep it
